AT THE RIC OR UTILITY WORKING CONFERENCE FORUMS, NUCLEAR ENGINEERS AND MANAGERS SAY:

"Our equipment aging reliability process doesn't integrate with component maintenance work orders, EPIX equipment failure cause reporting or other programs. Programs just get more complex. Check valves, MOV's, single point vulnerabilities, life cycle management, now equipment reliability - isolated programs abound. Each overlapping program's owner sees only their area. INPO, EPRI, and even NRC programs claim multiple benefits - fewer precursor events, reduction of critical equipment failures and lower maintenance costs. Where are they? We can't even understand how some of our equipment got on INPO critical equipment lists - there's no rationale. Defense-in-depth made our Equipment Reliability Program complex. Our "PM basis" removes critical regulatory sting, yet we've never maintained it.; we can't. It's too expensive; besides, it was developed by a contractor. Why can't we solve equipment aging obsolescence? We haven't installed distributed controls or rotary compressors. We can't even buy new microprocessor-based power supplies! Nuclear plants alone use thirty-year old analog controls! Why can't we modernize?"

CORE's PM software and services offers the following performance based benefits:

  • Risk-informed critical equipment selection
  • Standard industry PM templates customized to your license
  • Direct PM work order loading
  • Program integration based on design, risk and cost
  • Diagnostic tools to identify incipient equipment failures
  • Effective PM basis update process
  • Equipment aging obsolescence control
  • Simple methods to to re-plan obsolete replaced equipment PMs
